Interview guides

An interview has three parts you can prepare for. There are the questions you'll be asked, the questions you'll ask, and the conversation about pay that follows a good interview. The guides in this section cover each one with examples you can adapt.

Start with the STAR method, which gives behavioral answers a clear shape and includes a plan for preparing six to eight stories. Then pick a few questions to ask the interviewer, matched to whoever you're meeting. When an offer arrives, the guide to salary negotiation covers the research, the expectations question, and how to make a counteroffer.
